My husband wants to learn to play the Banjo as part of his mid-life crisis. What is a good reasonably priced banjo? Manufacturer? Price range? Any advice?

I have a MKIII Toyota Supra and I have a leak in my power steering system. The leak is coming from a banjo bolt that mounts a power steering fluid line to the power steering pump. I tried changing the washer between the bolt and the line, but had no luck.

I'm getting my boyfriend a banjo for valentime's day. He's been wanting one for years. He's not that musically gifted, he's never played an instrument before. I've played numerous stringed instruments over the years, so I'm going to help him as much as I can. What I need to know is, what are the major differences between banjos and other stringed instuments that I might not know about? For example, are there any major differences between tuning or restringing a banjo and a guitar? I don't know anything about finger picks. Do they come in different sizes, or are they all adjustable? Do they come in different weights like guitar picks? This is just a trial period. He might try it out and decide he doesn't even like it, so no need to go into too much detail. I'm just looking for the basics. He does like Bela Fleck! Thanks!

I have very little to no guitar experience. Now I want to switch to the banjo. How hard is it to learn? Which would you say is more difficult...guitar or banjo?
